A Message from Lisa:

Welcome to the end-of-summer 2015 edition of "The Goodbee Connection", an e-newsletter designed to keep our friends and clients in the know about our adventures in the utility coordination world and beyond! The summer months were busy for the Goodbee team as we continued to hone our design-build skills on the RTD North Metro Rail Line project, attend various industry forums, and participate in yet another Habitat for Humanity Women-Build event. From hard work on the design and design-build projects we're currently involved on to marathons and "framing blitzes", I like to think we're on our way to achieving that ever-elusive work-life balance! Read on for more details and, as always, we appreciate your continued support and interest in Goodbee & Associates.

You may have seen headlines or overheard some recent industry discussion about the Skyway Bridge that is currently under construction along the RTD North Metro Rail Line Design-Build project. It will be the longest bridge in Colorado at 9,533 feet and will carry commuter trains through north metro Denver, crossing 11 existing transportation corridors and waterways. At its highest point, the Skyway Bridge will stand almost 50 feet above grade. Goodbee utilities design for this project was led by Sheresa Lehocky, Design Project Manager, and involved potholing/locates, impact analysis and relocation plans. Design components included coordination of electric, communication, fiber backbone, water, sanitary and high pressure gas lines. Utilities operations on the construction side, led by Design-Build Project Manager Laura Harmon, include relocations and replacements to accommodate the structure: six electric transmission mains; primary electric facilities serving local large municipal customers; and local/large carrier fiber. Construction is expected to continue for approximately another 18 months. We look forward to providing you with further updates as this project progresses.

Ribbon-cutting and celebration of the Colorado Center Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge
Goodbee staff member Elissa Roselyn joined Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and other city leaders at the July 28th ribbon cutting for the new Colorado Center Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge near I-25 and Evans Avenue. It's being celebrated as "Bridging the Gap" over I-25. Elissa served as Project Manager for utilities coordination for this essential structure that gives cyclists and pedestrians an improved and safer connection over the interchange between the Colorado Center RTD light rail station and surrounding neighborhoods.
We are proud to announce our status as one of ColoradoBiz magazine's top 100 woman-owned businesses! Staff members Mary Keith Floyd, Carolyn Baudermann and Megan Keefe represented the Goodbee team at the June 17th reception for selected firms at Denver's RedLine Gallery. We are honored to rank among so many of our talented and successful peers.

Congratulations to the GREAT GOODBEES relay team for their stellar performance in the 10th Annual Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon, May 2015. No world records were broken with their pace time, but some personal records were! GREAT going, GREAT GOODBEES!
Goodbee Habitat for Humanity Women Build Week reps included Lisa Goodbee, Mary Keith Floyd, Marny Pavelka and Megan Keefe. Our partners included Kelli Cholas, Tammy Kelly, Patti Miers, Robbie Robbins and Melody Sattizahn. A big thanks to all who helped build!
A team of Goodbee staff members and friends participated in the August 2015 Habitat for Humanity Women-Build-Week event. An entire Denver duplex home was framed in just five days thanks to the sweat and toil of hard-working women during WBW! More than 100 women participated in the "Framing Blitz"!
Not one, but TWO mentions for the firm in the Fall 2015 issue of ACEC's Engineering Colorado magazine! Lisa Goodbee was recognized along with the dedicated advocates who were instrumental in the passage of House Bill (HB) 15-1197, 'A Landmark Win'. The company also received a nod for its employee wellness program in the 'Engineering Wellness' feature. We are honored to be included among so many of our respected industry peers!
In the spirit of the Back-to-School season, just want to remind you of the Lunch-N-Learn program we offer: We'd love to tell you all about our design and design-build skills and experience garnered in the past 20-plus years in business; we'll provide a brief overview of who we are and what we do. We take the show on the road to your office and, yes, we'll bring lunch! Contact Mary Keith Floyd for more details:
